My interest in journalistic writing extends beyond my research. I love reading newspapers: the mixture of objective fact and subjective style characteristic of the opinion pages, as well as the anonymous complicity that is created with the columnist, the news about the publishing market mediated by more or less subjective recommendations, the letters to the editor and the concerns of readers on the street, and so on. At present, we enjoy an unprecedented audiovisual offer: creative podcasts that coexist alongside the traditional literary supplements (which I worked on in the context of a couple of academic papers a few years ago).
As a result, I have a passion for writing about cultural issues from a broad and entertaining perspective.
I am currently engaged in an outreach project entitled “Spanish Literature on the Road.” From time to time, I publish posts on LinkedIn (the social network I use most frequently) about the position of Spanish literature in the German-speaking world. What are the best-selling books, what do booksellers recommend, and what Spanish literature interests readers in countries other than Spain?
I have experience publishing articles and reviews in the cultural press. Here you find a sample text for El Ciervo about creative-writing workshops and academies.
